Otology
Middle ear surgery, among other things, involves operating on the smallest bones in the human body. Dangers of conservative methods may sometimes be an acoustic or mechanical trauma. By using the correct wavelength - such as 980nm - and our otology probes, which are specially developed for middle ear surgery, atraumatic work is ensured.
Structures that are difficult to reach such as the anterior stapes leg are easily reachable with the laser and the appropriate otology probe. Contactless application of laser radiation eliminates the risk of mechanical trauma considerably.

The wavelength of 980 nm has a high absorbance inhemoglobin whereas the 1470 nm has a high absorbance in water. The thermal penetration depth of the LASEEV® DUAL laser therefore can be adjusted to the needs of the particular ENT application by just a finger tip.
