Non Surgical Varicose Vein Removal 980nm 1470nm Medical Diode Laser
Dual 980nm+1470nm endovenous vein laser ablation/EVLT/EVLA Laser device
Treatment principle
Why is dual 980+1470nm for treatment EVLA/EVLT?
980nm is absorbed in the first instance by hemoglobine (HbO2) whereas longer wavelenth like 1470nm are dominantly absorbed by intracellular water(Absorption coefficient for 1470nm approximatelly 40 times higher than 980nm).
The 1470nm laser wavelength of HOLA II is effectively used in the treatment of the varicose veins, 1470nm wavelength is preferentially absorbed by water 40 times more than a 980nm wavelength. It will minimize any post-operative pain and bruising, and the patients will recover quickly. The EVLA procedure is performed in 30 minutes or less without any pain. Patients are able to drive themselves home afterwards, and may resume their normal activities immediately.
What is Endovenous Laser Treatment (EVLT/EVLA) for Varicose Veins?
Endovenous laser therapy (EVLT) is a minimally invasive, groundbreaking treatment method for varicose veins, which uses laser energy. Varicose veins are swollen, twisted veins that develop in the legs and can cause discomfort. During this procedure, the heat produced by the laser closes off varicose veins from blood flow. This forces blood to find healthier veins, causing the varicose veins, and the symptoms associated with them, to disappear.
An 980 nm/1470nm diode laser will be used to deliver the laser energy via a small laser fiber. Endovenous laser treatment is performed under local anesthesia in the doctor's office. There is little to no scarring and a relative short recovery period after the procedure. The procedure is called Endovenous Laser Treatment (EVLT ); it is an outpatient procedure which means you can resume your normal activities almost immediately.
HOLA II 980+1470nm laser system can be used to treat different kinds of varicose veins, such as:
*Great Saphenous Vein (GSV)
*Small Saphenous Vein (SSV)
*Their major tributaries such as the Anterior Accessory Saphenous Veins (AASV)
Advantages
Benefits of ELT Over Surgery
*Lower recurrence of varicose veins
* A simple procedure
* Performed under local anesthetics
* Minimally invasive, so minimal risk for scarring and postoperative infection
* Less than one hour examination and treatment time
* Rapid recovery with reduced postoperative pain
* Return to normal activities immediately
* Excellent clinical and aesthetic result

1. What is the procedure of the EVLT operation? |
After your scan your leg will be cleaned before a tiny amount of anaesthetic is applied (using super fine needles).A catherer is inserted into the vein and the Endovenous Laser fibre is inserted.After this a cool anaesthetic is then applied around your vein to protect surrounding tissues.You will then be required to wear goggles before the laser machine is switched on.During the procedure the laser will be pulled back to seal the faulty vein. Rarely will patients experience any discomfort when the laser is being used. |
2.Is EVLT procedure painful? |
Some patients may experience temporary soreness or some slight swelling, which can be treated effectively with over-the-counter, non-aspirin pain relievers and typically subsides within the first five days. The procedure is minimally invasive and requires no general anesthesia. |
3.Is Evlt dangerous? |
EVLT is safe and effective,2-4 especially in terms of faster recovery. |
4.How long after EVLT will I see results? |
Within one week patients may start to notice a difference in the prominence of their varicose veins, but complete results may take weeks to months. |
