Laser interaction with tissue depends on the wavelength of choice. The Laseev laser comes in 2 versions - the 980nm and the 1470 nm. 1.The 980nm laser with equal absorption in water and blood, offers a robust all-purpose surgical tool, and at 30Watts of output, a high power source for endovascular work. 2.The 1470nm laser with significantly higher absorption in water, provides a superior precision instrument for reduced collateral thermal damage around venous structures.Accordingly, it is highly recommended for endovascular work.
Application

The procedure is performed in the clinic with topical anesthetic cream and takes approximately 30-45 minutes. There is minimal or no pain and no downtime, the patient can resume normal activity immediately. This treatment should be performed 6-8 weeks apart and for best results, avoidance of direct sunlight to the treated area is recommended.
1. How long do I have to wait for results after the EVLT procedure?
You will notice changes within the first week, and it may take several months to see full treatment results.
After EVLT surgery, your veins will begin to gradually improve their appearance from dark blue to red. This red is then refined to a light red. Varicose veins will disappear in about 2 to 6 weeks, depending on their extent. Over time, you will also find that the treated area becomes clearer and visibly better. This condition will continue to improve further after each treatment.
2. How long does it take to recover from EVLT?
While walking is encouraged shortly after surgery, any strenuous exercise involving the legs should be avoided for 2-3 weeks to allow sufficient time for healing.
3. Do I need additional treatment?
Depending on your condition, these treatments can be done during IV laser treatment or sometime after treatment.
The common period for the main prescription for additional therapy is approximately 4-6 weeks after EVLT. This is especially true if you have varicose veins in both legs.
Avulsion is a treatment performed under local anesthesia. A local anesthetic solution is injected around the varicose vein area to numb it. The doctor will then make small incisions over the affected area. The doctor uses a hook to comb the veins with a hook. Although the number of incisions required is high, you will experience very little scarring. The incision is also very small and does not require sutures.
Foam sclerotherapy is the most effective treatment for varicose veins after EVLT. The procedure involves the use of a foam sclerosant that is injected into the affected blood vessels. This allows the blood vessels to close on their own and redirect blood. A hardener is simply a sealant, also known as an ablation agent. The redirected blood flow to other healthy veins restores normal blood flow.
