Pldd Surgical 1470nm 980nm Diode LaserPLDD is a minimally invasive procedure for treatment of heriated lumbar and cervical discs. It involves insertion of a micro-needle under X-Ray guidance into the disc nucleus. A fiber is then inserted through the needle and used to deliver laser energy to the nucleus. The delivered laser energy thermally evaporates excessive fluid reducing internal pressure and relieving back pain.
PLDD has proven to be safe and effective. It is minimally invasive, is performed in an outpatient setting, requires no general anesthesia, results in no scarring or spinal instability, reduces rehabilitation time, is repeatable, and does not preclude open surgery should that become necessary.
